Batterers Intervention Program (BIP)
A Time for Change Counseling and Repositioning Services Batterers Intervention Program:
- a 26-week psycho-education group
- designed to address the issues of domestic violence between intimate partners
The program accepts persons who are court ordered to participate in a BIP program or volunteers who recognize that they have domestic violence issues in their relationships. The participants in the State Certified Program will learn how to address power and control issues in relationships and to reduce the incidence of domestic violence. Special emphasis is placed on protecting the victims and helping the client to change their beliefs and behaviors. In order to
enroll in the program the participant must first complete an assessment and orientation. The participant must attend the remaining 24 weekly classes. Fees for Anger Management and BIP are available on a sliding scale.
