Mr. Michael T. Johnson, LCSW, MSSW - President and CEO of "A Time for Change". He is a Clinical Social Worker with over 35 years of professional experience in health care and social work. He has over 15 years emergency mental health and substance abuse evaluation experience. His areas of expertise are domestic violence, anger management, mental health, substance abuse, physical disability, trauma, Critical Incident Stress Management, advanced directive counseling and workplace violence. He has worked closely with several law enforcement and community agencies in North Central Florida for over 25 years. He has over 10 years of domestic violence experience in Florida as Certified Assessor and a Group Facilitator.
Michael graduated from the historic Tuskegee University (Tuskegee Institute, Alabama) in 1977 with a Bachelor's of Social Work Degree. He received two certificates of training in Drug Abuse Human Services and Child Welfare. He received his Masters of Science in Social Work Degree from the University of Louisville (Kentucky) with a specialization in Comprehensive Health Care and Health Care Administration in 1978. Mr. Johnson has served as a Commissioned Officer in both the United States Army's Medical Service Corp and the United States Public Helath Services Medical Service Corp.
He worked for over ten years with Mr. John Butch Jones of Creative Counseling Services in Gainesville where he served as the Clinical Director.
